FAQ's
Many companies highlight that their products "include natural ingredients", but that does not mean their products are "all-natural". Look closely at the ingredient lists for their products, and you’ll often find harmful chemicals like parabens, petrolatum, and sulfates. CARA B NaturallyTM is committed to ensuring that our products are truly all-natural and chemical-free. We work with all of our manufacturing partners and suppliers to make sure we are delivering the highest quality product possible. As proof of our commitment to using only natural ingredients, our products have been awarded the coveted Natural Products Association certification – the only personal care product line specifically formulated for ethnic children to earn such a distinction.
Founded in 1936, the Natural Products Association (NPA) is the nation's largest and oldest non-profit organization dedicated to the natural products industry. The NPA includes as its mission to “advocate for the rights of consumers to have access to products that will maintain and improve their health”. The NPA demands rigorous standards and comprehensive analysis of any product seeking an NPA seal of approval. CARA B Naturally is proud to be a certified member of the Natural Products Association. "At CARA B Naturally, we truly believe our children's skin and hair is naturally beautiful and should be treated as such; it does not need to be chemically altered or weighed down with synthetic products and ingredients. Of greatest concern; however, is the potential negative impact of harsh chemicals on children's overall health. Emerging scientific studies point to possible links between chemical ingredients commonly found in personal care products and serious illnesses and/or chronic diseases like hormonal changes, vital organ damage, and skin irritation. While some studies remain inconclusive, and more analysis of the potential harm caused by these chemicals is underway, CARA B Naturally is determined to simply avoid chemicals altogether, and offer only the best all-natural products for your children."
Our products are paraben-free, petrolatum-free, phthalate-free, sulfate-free and mineral oil-free. All of these harmful chemicals can be commonly found in many popular children's personal care products.
Parabens are believed to mimic the hormone estrogen and, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency, parabens can interfere with the function of the body's endocrine system.
Sulfates, commonly used in Shampoos, are believed to mimic the hormone estrogen and can cause severe eye damage.
Phthalates, have been shown to cause damage to the liver, kidneys, lungs, and reproductive system; phthalates are commonly used in lotions in the United States, but have been banned in European Union cosmetics.
Petrolatum, often used in moisturizing creams and oils, is derived from petroleum and is linked to potentially cancer-causing impurities; petrolatum is banned in European Union cosmetics.
Mineral oil, makes up 100% of some popular baby oils; mineral oil is derived from petroleum, linked to potentially cancer-causing impurities, and known to dehydrate the skin and inhibit the production of natural oils.
